EPA Authorized States
EPA manages the Lead-Safe Certification program in most areas of the country, and contractors working in those states should apply to EPA to become certified. However, some states are authorized to administer their own Renovation, Repair and Painting Programs (RRP Programs) in lieu of the federal program.
Contractors working in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin must contact the state to find out more about its training and certification requirements.
